Serenity
Serenity is,
knowing and accepting
that there are things
we’ll never fully understand,
ancient things of the universe
of the mysteries of life and death,
of the human spirit,
that we may never touch.
But serenity also is
knowing that there are things unknowable
and challenging that,
with the curiosity and zest of a child,
with the ability to be awed but not frightened
by the unexplored and the unexplorable.
Serenity is
being free of what-ifs regarding the future
and why-nots regarding the past,
and no longer crying for
these timeless lands
that we can never truly walk upon.
Sereinity is, most of all,
being overjoyed with the present love
that even now
surrounds you.
