Dorothy Ashman, M.A.
Licensed Psychologist, Director
Dorothy received her Masters in Psychology from Bucknell University. She
studied biofeedback at the Menninger Clinic, Topeka, Kansas and
neurofeedback with Sigfried and Sue Othmer, of EEG Spectrum. She is an
EMDRIA® Approved Consultant. Dorothy is trained in Critical Incident Stress
Management and has completed the 9-month ISSD course on dissociation taught
by Dr. Richard Kluft.
In addition to her position as Director of the Bloomsburg Psychological
Center,LLC, Dorothy specializes in stress management, anxiety and depression
work, anger management, women's issues, spiritual and personal growth
concerns, trauma reduction and relationship problems.
Dorothy works with adults, adolescents, couples, and families. She has also
taught a variety of workshops on resiliency, stress management and Women's
Journaling.
Dorothy is a member of the American Psychological Association, the
Pennsylvania Psychological Association, EMDRIA®, Regional Coordinator for
the Northeast Regional EMDRIA® Meeting and is Chairman of the PPA (Public
Information and Marketing Committee).
Ronda Barto, LCSW, BCD
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Ronda received her Masters in Clinical Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and Bachelors in Psychology at Bloomsburg University. She has specialized training in EMDR. Ronda provides services for children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. She has worked extensively with families and behavior disordered teens. Other professional interests include anxiety, depression, grief, anger and trauma.
Ronda's new therapy dog, Brewster, has picked up the torch handed to him by our beloved Maggie. Brewster is already skilled in welcoming people to BPC and is a joy and comfort to the many children and adults who work with Ronda in session.

Linda Candlish, M.S.
Licensed Psychologist
Linda received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from The College of Wooster, and both a Master's Degree in Counseling and Certification as a School Psychologist from Wright State University. She recently completed advanced work, with an emphasis on Prevention of Violence, in the Doctoral Clinical Psychology program at the Fielding Graduate Institute.
Linda brings thirty years of clinical experience with children, adolescents, adults, and relationships. She has trained in the following therapeutic areas: Contextual Family Therapy, Psychodynamic Theory (Object Relations and Self-Psychology), Gestalt, Bioenergetics, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Mindfulness and mind-body awareness. For educational interventions, she incorporates the diagnostic and intervention recommendations of Mel Levine, M.D..
Her current interests include: facilitating understanding of self and other, resolution of trauma (including sexual violations), stress resilience, adult Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and the integration of psychology and spirituality. Having Begun her career as a teacher of special education, she has a special commitment to assist individuals --children and adults-- to understand their own learning needs and styles.
For fifteen years, Linda has studied the Enneagram, a map of personality that considers both psychological and spiritual dimensions. A student of Don Riso and Russ Hudson at The Enneagram Institute, she is completing certification as a teacher of the Enneagram. Additionally, Linda is trained as a wellness coach and serves as adjunct faculty at the Helix Institute of Wellness Coaching.

Trudy Frace, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Trudy received her Bachelors in Social Work at Bloomsburg University and her Masters degree in Social Work from Marywood University. She is a qualified Facilitator for the Practical Parent Education Program of Plano, Texas.
Trudy has experience working with families and children who have difficulties within the school and home settings. She has taught Sociology courses as an adjunct faculty member for Luzerne Community College. Trudy has been involved with Susquehanna Mental Health Association by promoting the Compeer Program.

Sorrel Luhrs, M.A, CAC, CCS

Sorrel received his Masters in Clinical Psychology from Farleigh Dickinson University. He has specialized training in hypnosis, addictions and EMDR. He provides services for adults, teens individuals, couples, and families. Sorrel has experience treating a wide variety of mental health and relationship issues. He has taught psychology at the college level and consulted with businesses on organizational development issues. He is also able to provide clinical supervision for Drug and Alcohol counselors. Sorrel is an EMDRIA® Certified Therapist and Approved Consultant. He is able to provide consultation for EMDR therapists.

Catherine McLaughlin, M.ED.
Licensed Psychologist
Catherine received her Masters degree in Counselor Education from the Pennsylvania State University, where she subsequently worked as a counselor and instructor. After 2 years of doctoral work at the University of Oregon, she returned to Bloomsburg to pursue licensure. She is trained in hypnosis, is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, and an EMDR Facilitator.
Catherine works primarily with college students and other adults. Her professional interests include: recovery from trauma, personal growth, anxiety, grief, depression and eating disorders. She speaks fluent Spanish and has a therapy dog named Jasper.

Denyse Speer, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Denyse received her Bachelor of Science degree from Thomas Jefferson University and her Master of Social Work from Marywood University. She has also obtained her advanced licensure in clinical social work. Denyse has completed special training on domestic violence and sexual assault and has worked at a women's shelter.
Denyse works with individuals and couples 16 years and older. She has clinical experience in treating anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, chronic pain, self-esteem, women's issues, gay and lesbian issues and life transitions.

Richard Whitmire, MSW, BCD, NCACI
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Richard received his Masters in Clinical Social Work from Marywood University in 1975 and his Bachelors in Psychology from Bloomsburg University in 1973. He is a Certified Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, board certified in clinical hypnotherapy from the National Board of Certified Clinical Hypotherapists (NBCCH) and is a Nationally Certified Addictions Counselor (NAADAC). He has attained additional certifications in Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (NACBT), Forensic Counseling (NAFC), Rational Emotive Therapy, and Relapse Prevention Therapy. Richard is a Certified Imago Therapist and a Clinical Member of Imago Relationships International.
Richard provides services for adolescents and adults in individual, couples, and family therapy.
Trudy provides services for children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. She specializes in stress management, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and women’s issues. She provides EMDR therapy.

Sue LaBar Yohey, M.ED., M.S.
Licensed Psychologist
Nationally Certified School Psychologist
A Nationally Certified School Psychologist who earned her Masters in Education from Indiana University, Sue is also certified in Counseling from Bucknell University. She earned a second Masters from Bloomsburg University. Sue offers a wide variety of diagnostic assessments for both adults and children. A provider of psychological services in schools for over 25 years, Sue has wide experience with preschool populations, play and filial therapies, and diagnosis and treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
